Rattle in the front suspension
Hi guys,
have just put in a Suspension Stuff 2' lift on my 95 Disco D1 3.9l V8.
Dobinson Springs and Suspension stuff shocks.
Problem is that I went off road up the Flinders this weekend and there was a distinctive rattle from the front right wheel. After taking it down to local ABS, they have come back to me and told me that there are no rubbers around the spring....is this normal? Or should there be rubber buffers under and on top of spring? He told me that they are on the back, but not the front.
Ciao
Luke

AFAIR the insulators were only ever on the back and even then they were only on the top. If the rattle is when the spring is fully extended the spring is too short for the shock. Many aftermarket springs used to be like this years ago but long soft sporings like LRA fixed the problem. I recall I bought a car with Lovells 20 years ago and the RH front used to SPROING every time it was extended as it was too stiff to bend with the axle angle. Regards Philip A
