Initially, I'd just try a drop of oil on the pivot points for the pedals, linkages and down the cable...
You can also detach the cables, etc... operate by hand and you should be able to feel if there's any resistance.

A little birdy told me you received your injector pump and it gets fitted in 2 weeks ;)
Correct Sir...Thanks to yourself...heres hoping everything will go well..its in ballarat and all they do there is injector pump's for diesels..he quoted me $300 to either put the one i got from you in or take the top off mine and check it out and both are with timing it all up as well so sounds good.
well i realesed the throttle cable and my wife used the pedal to pull it in and it went fine but when i pulled it out by hand from under the bonnet there was tightness there, is it suposed to pull out nice and easy???? Plus its a bit frayed on the outside of the cable. I just found out that you can also adjust it by the black knob that connects to the pump..what that for???
The black knob is for taking the slackness out of the throttle cable.
Tighten it up until the throttle lever just starts to move, then back it off a tiny bit so that the cable has a little bit of slack in it and also so that the throttle lever returns to the idle position against the idle screw. Drive it and see how it goes, this might take a few adjustments and drives to get right.
If the cable is tight to pull in and out of it's sheath - lube it up with one of these: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showthread...ht=cable+luber :D
well i adjusted it and the truck seems to pull alot harder than it was. its idleing just a bit faster to before but she is really pulling now. but there is still something there thats not right. i'm hoping to get her in to change the pump ina few weeks so we'll see how that goes.
I lost count how many times I recommended you checked this simon as like I said in all your other threads it made a huge difference to my car i figured because you always skipped over my comment you had done it.:wallbash:
Just a little tip for you here now you have adjusted it go put a small blob of sika flex behind it as they do unwind themselves;)
G'day All,
Well i have not posted on my power siuation for a while as i have been trying to sort out other things and save some money to take it to the spanners. WELL i can say now that i took it the the mech's to get the pump changed over that rangieman let me borrow and all i can say is WoW!!!!!!!
What a differance it makes as in power wise. So it looks like it was always the injector pump issue but dont know specificaly what. when i get some more money together i will take mine to get checked out. the other cause of the proplem was the accelerator cable sticking which i am getting a new one put in on tuesday. It was full of mud and other mucky stuff which sometime made my pedal hard then on some days it would be soft and going great. Mech ended up putting some crc down the cable and it looks like it freed up all the mud inside and its running great.
So far this problem was the most streesful i have encounterd but happy to say its fixed now. Just would like to say a BIG THANKS to everyone out there on the forum for throwing suggestions and possible causes to me to check out.
cheers simon
