    If the symptoms were as you have described them in previous posts, then the bits that generate the injection pressure - rollers and things - will probably have started to disintegrate, loss of hardening, splitting, cracking and all other means of stuffup.

    To repair such a beast, it's a dismantle in a clean room and rebuild and recalibrate it. No simple way to just do perhaps the bit that's busted.

    Hilux and other vehicles with Bosch rotary mechanical injection pumps require the same treatment.

    Had a feeling you would say that pete lol. not a problem though heres hoping the one i have on last's for a bit so i could save up some money and fix the other one. cheers mate

    Well i took the beast out yesterday for a bit of a play and can only say that i am one very happy chappy right now. The disco did not fault once, i had the power there and i even forgot to put it in low range as she just kept going without a problem.bit of black smoke when she starts to load up but when going up the hills i didnt see anything and the same with the other guys i went with. Tomoz i'm going back to get my accelerator cable changed over and done with.

    very happy right now!!!!!

    Ok well today i got my new accelerator cable and put her in and geez it made alot of difference!!!! Alot more smoother and awesome pick up as well all from a cable. had a look at the old one and its full and i mean FULL of mud and crap inside but still kept it for a spare, so now all is left is a nice little services on sat and i'm very very happy.

    Just gave the disco a well deserved service and she is running smooth than ever before I reckon. Just goes to show what a little TLC could do to your rig if you look after it....

    As stated above this is probable cause, the cost will be approx $1500 if the body is still alright.Mine had gone to far so the total was in excess of $2000.
