Flashing SRS light.
Hi All, just took my d1 in for rego check and it failed on the SRS light flashing, now my cruise control buttons on steering wheel dont work neither, would this be a problem with the steering collector?
Now i know i cant just take out the globe, so im after advice on a cheap fix as im pretty broke after loosing my job, how much is a light reset and collector? or could i repair it?

The steering wheel 'snail' or rotary coupler can be obtained 2nd hand at a reasonable price - forget new. And it is reasonably easy to remove and replace after you take the steering wheel off. But it takes a PC connection and a thing called 'testbook' (etc) to clear the fault in the airbag controller. Usually you have to visit a LR dealer, and they're not called stealers for nothing. Depending on who you visit next for inspection, you might be able to wing it if you are capable of removing the dash and dissembling it - as then you can get to the SRS bulbs (2 of).

All sorted, i removed airbag to find it disconnected, i reconnected it and got it reset for $65, which i thought was reasonable enough

I too have this issue, thankyou for posting your solution.
hopefully mine can be fixed as easily too.
is there a relation as to which airbag has failed as to which 'half' of the SRS light flashes?

not sure if there is a relation to the flashing lights and which air bag, a second hand clock spring can be bought for around $140, found out you can get a scan and reset for $50 at graeme coopers in sydney.
