    carnt find the relays for cooling fan

    been searching for the relay for the cooling fans to see if that is the problem causing them not to work,its a 93 d1 has the old dash no glovebox,my repair manual is saying its infront of passenger compartment but doesnt show a picture,can anyone point me in the right direction please,,and any other reason my fans might not be working would also help

    You may find the relays behind the kick panel in the footwell on the passenger side, there may be some on the drivers side too.
    I assume you mean the two electric fans in front of the aircon radiator, they are controlled by the engine management system and the engine has to get pretty hot to have them come on, the aircon overrides them so they come on with the aircon, again assuming you have aircon.

    if its a V8
    There is also a heat sensor for these fans to come on is screwed into the thermostat housing,
    but as Crackerjack stated, these fans are mainly to cool the condenser for your air-con and and only really assisit the radiator cooling when engine is getting TOO hot.
    your Viscous fan is supposed to pretty much take care of the engine cooling.

    there is relays behind the passenger kick panel ,dont know if one is for the fan relay,however there is one for the starter motor [200tdi]

    so,, is the problem the aircon fans arent kicking in,,
    or is it overheating?
