I guess I am used to the NT we have a system where you can do damned near anything to a vehicle so long as it is approved by an engineer, it is then registered as a one off manufacted vehicle.
To go out side of standard i am happy to pay to get an engineer to check it over. I would have a hell of a time morally if I caused an accident and it was proved that I had made the vehicle unsafe by not getting the modifications checked and approved
Same here, mine still got plenty tread and no lugs have fallen off. Only prob is I find they don't grip wet tarmac too well when you gotta stop in a hurryQuote:

Just for interest sakes, I held a vehicle, 85RR that I'd worked on, that a mate, who was a passenger died in some years ago, it was fitted with 32" tyres and an unengineered body lift in a single vehicle accident, it was subject to an enquiry and was inspepected here, they deemed the body lift was done amply as the seat belt hoops etc were extended etc and didn;t exceed 50mm, and the tyres didn;t play a major role in the accident, it was driver error, so in regards to a situation such as this, they were very realistic, although the vehicle wasn;t insured, so I can;t talk about insurance company's.............I haven;t had vehicle insurance since I was a bad boy, lost my brief more than a few times, for approx 5 years now, so have had little to do with it:(:angel:
