Here is a link to my thread. I have a range rover bar on my disco and think it looks ok - but then this bar has been moded and sits much closer to the panel work and has much smaller wings. The only real shots of the bar are on pg 1.
Fitting a bull bar isn't that much work so why dont you fit it so see if you like it or not.

Yes, I was thinking about that last night, I'll just fit it up and see how it looks. I've made a few mods to the bar over the years, recessing my rectangular lights into the bottom wings and adding lots of light & aerial mounts, recovery points etc. Would be good to continue to use it.Quote:

The rear seats were a straight swap, just had to change over the latch mechanism as they differ somewhat but the holes for this even line straight up. Armrests in the back too, what more could the kids ask....
I pulled back a corner of the rear (5th) door trim and yes there is a central locking actuator there, so it has been disabled at some stage. No time as yet to fiddle further with that.
I also tried the bullbar for fit today, sadly it is not a goer, so will be looking for a Discovery bullbar to mount my lowmount Warn winch.
Never a shortage of things to fiddle with when one acquires a vehicle. Still have the sub-floor gas tanks to fit up (the Discovery has 120L of gas tanks occupying the entire rear load space), dual battery system to swap over, belly tanks to do likewise, bound to think of something else...
Just looking at your bar setup again, looks good but I think mine would need a lot of modifying to make it fit and it still would probably look NQR.Quote:

The main physical differences between a rr and disco bar appears to be:
the absence of some cross bars below the headlights on the RR bar
the RR bar front risers do not lift as high
the RR bar is straighter across the front profile and so comes closer to the bonnet in the centre when fitted to a disco (the disco bonnet curves, the rr bonnet is straight)
The bottom profile of the side wings appears different.
