mine seems to run better in the heat but that may be due to running transformer oil and not desiel
G'day
just wondering how everyones 300tdi landies cope in the heat. Here in melb we are currently sitting on 39 degrees and she seems to struggle a little. I have a snorkel and know for a fact that the 300tdi's love getting alot of cold air but with this heat it's getting just hot air going through. Would there be any difference in power due to this???
Cheers Simon

Yes the heat will make the slug even slower![]()
Try a bigger intercooler.
Made a real difference to mine plus of course the usual pump tweak.
Also flushed radiator plus replaced with correct fluid and replaced all hoses carrying water just in case.
New silicone hoses definately helped performance, I can not explain that though as old hoses were not delapidated at all.
So slug is going well enough.
My wifes Golf tdi does not seem to suffer at all so far.
I can definitely say all intercooled Land Rovers work better in colder weather.
Trust me it never really gets cold here and I notice a definite improved performance every time I've driven south.

indeed. cooler air is more dense! therefore you get more air for the volume it is able to pump in!!
on any turbo engine the difference is quite noticable.
i dont really notice a difference in mine. she's a slug in any weather conditions! although as said, turbo's do love the colder air. i used to love taking my old turbo'd Bluebird out for a drive on a cold, dry night![]()
although in this hotter weather i have been keeping an eye on the temp gauge, fortunately it hasn't budged but i'm dreading the day it does![]()
cooling system overhaul and temp / low water alarms on their way![]()
