well he said an orange light came on so I'm guessing his diff lock was in....
unless of course he slammed it in that hard his ABS failed

you need to come out with landies to show you what landies can do....95% of the time its the driver not the car

im not having a laugh guys i dont think its funny i think its crap im not having fun with the car at all, and im not trying to poke fun at landrover at all
iv always wanted to own a rangie or disco thinking how cool they are etc
just maybe the one i bought happens to be a dud and has a new $$$$$ problem every week

heres a link of the disco next to the poootrol

and trying to get up a rock walll that the patrol took 2 go's and was up i couldnt even get it off the first part

but back to the question in hand could it be that the radiator is junked up that she gets so hot?, now on the way home from syd passing another 93 disco owner had said thes have a bad habbit of junking up inside and the tanks need to be pulled off and cleaned out etc is this true?
could this acutally fix alot of the problems with the disco?

    Hi Guys, Matt,

I've always found comparing vehicles especially against tracks to be problematic, to many variables to say which is better bla bla bla. My almost standard disco so far has crapped all over my brothers almost standard patrol every time we go out, not that either vehicle is better than each other, I spend some time picking my lines, he on the other hand goes nuts, we just drive differently with different results.

Sorry to hear of the troubles you have been having, can I ask who does the work on your landy? Was in a similar situation myself when I first bought mine until I found a really good Landy mechanic, knows the easy and cheaper ways to fix things and can see things coming. Is there someone local to you who specializes in Rovers?

Awesome pics by the way, is it just the angle of the photo or is the passenger side rear bumper hung up on the start of the ledge? Just wondering if you took the same line as the patrol or did he attack it differently?

If that is were I think it is, (which I'm pretty certain) we all got up that in our landies no problem I stuck briefly only because i feel in someone elses hole they dug but I still got out with no drama's and that was in the dark!! on a night drive.

My advice to you is go and take a 4wd course or go out with people in similar vehicles that can help you....its about knowning your car inside out as well as its strengths and limitations...You can be in the best car on the planet doesn't mean to say it will get you there its a combination btween the car and your skill of being able to pick lines...if your following lines of other cars that are different wheel bases/modifications this could be wear you going wrong.

Your problems with the car aren't helping as I think it sounds like you have bought a car that has had a bit of a hard life as i have noticed you have had a number of issues.
But I can tell you now that discoverys in the right hands are extremely capable vehicles even standard

simply with that pic and knowing that track...you took the wrong line. i tried driving that line the other day but being wet i kept slipping in the split. it would be drivable in the dry but still abit of a challange.

    cheers phil
