Is anyone running a Dual timing A & R Power Amp on their LPG Disco?

I asked this question in the general chat section, and got no reply, so I'll post it here.
I just got some leads from these guys and was looking at their dual timing set up for LPG and petrol. Was wondering if anyones used one, did it work? Was it easy to tune the timing with? Did it last?
Here's a link to the ebay ad http://cgi.ebay.com.au/V8-Engine-Lan...ht_3965wt_1167
If anyone else wants one, or anything else from them, it may be cheaper to combine postage with me, and then get me to post it to you.

Yes! RPI Engineering is quality stuff, & what they don't know about the Rover V8 isn't worth knowing!
I first fitted the A&R amp to my 95 3.9 about 3 years ago, they are brilliant as the motor has the optimum timing advance for both fuels - not just a compromise between the two. Also the higher spark voltage deffinitely helps when on LPG.
I also put one on my 99 3.9 when I converted to gas last year.
They are fairly easy to install following the instructions, easy to set up, & I've never had a problem with them.
Also, do your V8 a favour & fit Magnecore HT leads, they are the BEST!

I got an RPI A&R unit off fleabay just before x-mas. Havn't had it hooked up yet as I'm thinking of getting my LP gas mechanics to do it as they have an all-wheel dyno and could probably tune it to suit.

I'm due for a service soon anyway and don't feel like taking a risk trying to hook it up with my very limited auto electrical skills.

Also, DiscoRock, do the Magnecore HT leads really help that much? And did you have to buy them from RPI or can we get here ?

Yeah I bought the leads, and wanted to save on postage, so that's why I asked about the timing, as I saw it on their site.
    Anyway, they're bothon there way.
I'll give an idiots report on instilation when they arrive.I'll be the idiot.

It's probably a good investment - I was doing some work on my RR (3.5l) today, and had to remove and refit the dissy - it had been put at 10 degrees BTDC, and that was allright except on ULP there was a bit of pinging on hot days. Just to see what it would be like a upped it to 16 BTDC and switched to gas, and (so far) it makes a fair bit of difference (In a good way..) But the downside is that on petrol 16 is a bit too much,(Runs poorly, but since I stay on gas it's not a big problem) So I'l be one of those waiting for your report when your gadget gets fitted. I'm especially curious on the performance of the power amp - and if it equates to any greater economy on gas.

I reckon Magnecore leads are well worth it, most other aftermarket leads out there just don't cut the mustard. You can get em here - just go on their website to find your local distributor & order them (they make em up vehicle specific so don't have em in stock).
If your dissy cap & rotor are a tad worn, I recommend replacing them aswell - with Lucus only ofcourse!

Langy, I'm too very keen to see and feel what happens when I fit the A&R unit. I think my dizzy is currently set to 16 BTDC. That rings a big bell. It was replaced years ago by Scorcher when the old one ran it's race. Funny that you say yours now runs poorly on petrol, mines plenty more smooth on gas also. Far more right foot and nice gear changes required to keep it smooth on petrol (especially when the missus drives it on ULP).

The power amps may be sorted now, but many purchasers had trouble with them - do a search on the UK (Rover) V8 and Cobra forums for some not too complimentary opinions
