Door that won't quite unlock...

Thanks for that. I haven't got around to doing it yet:angel:, and it won't get done today cause I'm studying now and going to Avatar for the second time later. :) But it will happen.

I got my springs from British Offroad at Forest Hills near Noosa on the Sunshine Coast. Apparently they source them from some crowd in Melbourne.

I have just had the same sort of problem with my 97 Disco as well.
Button didn't go all the way up on the drivers rear door and on the rear door it worked intermittently.
I went to Repco and got two new "generic" motors. All fixed, the mounting holes lined up prefectly and I just had to shorten the attaching rod a little due to the motor being slightly longer.
The rubbers on the tops of the old motors were badly perished and had let water in, causing the failures.
I think I'll do the other three in the near future, so I know they are all in tip top condition.

Sometimes it can be the electric actuator, easily picked, generic ones seem to fit ok, I have replaced 2.
Also the spring can be a problem, sometime u see these on ebay from the uk.

Have just had the same problem with my 97 tdi300 rear door, had it apart & put it down to the central locking motor as it seems to not lift the lock high enough to open the door (but now i'm not sure) does the motor work with gears??? as when i pull up & down there seems to be no resistance inside the motor....or should the spring hold the lock in the open position???
