    Went with the 265's

Bought a GU Patrol last June and it had these 265 Buckshots on it. On the road they were very noisy and the patrol is our around town car. I put some BF Goodrich AT 285x75x16 on it, much better..

I had these Buckshots sitting around and decided to put them on the D1sco.
Used the std rims to keep them inside the arch. Got the grinder out this morning after checking out as many posts as possible and had a hack at the back of the rear arches. Its a bit rough but ok. I am going to go bush again tomorrow and try it out

On the front I have just wound the stops out to stop the rubbing.

They certainly fill the holes better than the Cooper ST 235x70x16's did...

Best size tyre in my opinion, available everywhere unlike some of the smaller and larger sizes. I was going to put them onto mine, but had to go with the 245/75/16s due to the front 2"HD Dobinson springs not actually providing the lift. Will go to 265s after I put a bodylift in though. Is ur D1 a TDi or V8? If its a TDi does it struggle with the larger tyre?

Nah, it's a V8 auto. Makes light work of it all. It is so much easier in the auto off road. Lazy me!!

265's are perfect for a tdi , mine is auto and found it actually drives better with the taller tyres and has more go at 80/100 kph than it did before.

I agree they go better with the 32s on but mines worse at 80/100. Hoping my new intercooler and retune will fix that.

Went for a bit of a test drive. Went down a track that was quite rocky (probably why they called it Rocky Track). Had it balance on opposite wheels a couple of times waiting for it to gently tip the right way, neat as!

Once i got to the bottom i decided going up would be the order of the day. Awesome fun, but yes the 235's would not have made it.

    So cool !!

    What do you mean?
I'm about to look into new springs for a 2" lift, should i be steering clear of Dobinsons?
