    Can't find O2 sensors!! 1998 D1 V8

    OK.

I have a 1998 D1, V8 Auto.. Also a Haynes Repair manual.. I have had my D1 for about 4 years, and have just noticed it does not have any catalytic converters, and I also can't find the 2 Oxygen Sensors...

I'm not an expert, but it may have extractors fitted.. It is running VERY rich, and very poor milage.. Is any one aware of any mods for this model in this area, or am I just missing something here..?

I can't even find the plugs or wires as to where the O2 sensors should plug into..

I'm in Port Hedland WA, so no access to LR service (or any other) decent techies...

Here's some pics of the manifols exhaust etc.. Any help appreciated...

Im pretty sure that year of Disco didnt come out with O2 sensors or catalytic convertors. They did in America but not here.Your poor mileage and running will probably be the Air Flow Meter. Also they arent extractors. There the standard fitment exhaust manifolds.

Thanks that would be a reason why i can;t find them...

I replaced the MAF as a first option.. But still blowing a bit of black smoke under load and at idle.. (was idling up and down and stalling) Also replaced the the IAC valve, but that stopped my car from idling at ALL!!. So I just cleaned the old one and put it back in... So I thought, all I have left is the O2 sensors.....?

I recently bought some "cleanpower" fuel additive and put in my 98 D1sco, 3.9, after about half a tank it ran noticably better. On a highway run I get 480ks now where as the absolute best I ever got before was 425ks. It says it cleans the fuel system on it way through and decabrons things etc etc.
All I know is my car ran better and with all the money I throw at this car I thought 'What the hell!' Got it from costeffective.com.au.
