A valid point, on reflection the modifications wouldn't be that bad, and no need to modify the bar, just the 2 swing aways as you mentioned.
Still, for my money, it's a lot to spend for something you still have to modify.

Just had a better look at the photos......
Maybe theres something about not obstructing the tail lights (which you would maybe need to do to fit dual wheels) in the legislation or what ever rules companies like this need to work to that make it difficult to supply dual wheel carriers to the masses.
Your thoughts?
If you have a look at any of the bars with dual carriers regardless of make or model (say tojo 200 series) the standard tail lights are obscured. The bar therefore incorporatesa set of tail lights. You may have to make sure that the brake light on the back window is not obscured though as this is also an adr requirement.
btw I agree that if you are spending that much money the bar should do what you want.
Just finished a twin carrier for a D1 and will try and post up the pics, It was pretty labour intensive and a fair bit went on materials and sandblasting etc.
I think it turned out OK:)

Yes, the customer supplied a RRC ARB step bumper, we cut and moved in the sides, and the rest was pretty much as you see.Quote:

As some have mentioned already, the markets move as certain vehicles become cheaper/more accessible. I am rather surprised that given the low prices of Disco's now, there aren't more product like it available.
Some of the prices for accessories are absolutely disgusting, and some of the bigger companies need to start having a re-think about what they are doing. Spending $5k on a set of front and rear bars for a vehicle which is worth about just as much is laughable, and no person in their right mind would do that...esp when if they're looking at those products in the first place, they have already over-capitalised on their rig.
If it was $1k-1300 mark for the rear bar and wheel carriers I'd go for it without a second thought, but certainly not at their current prices...many better ways to spend the coin! I'll just settle for a pair of Thule cross-bars for the factory roof bars, and use a ratchet tie-down for the second spare thankyou...
