    mounting bracket for Safari Snorkel

    Hi
I am after a mounting bracket for a Safari Snorkel SS390HF. Or even a template of the bracket so I can get one made up.
The kit I bought was missing the bracket and I am having problems buying one without purchasing the whole fitting kit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Clive

Is it the bracket that screws/ rivets to the A pillar then to the snorkle ?, if so you can just use a piece or alloy or steel angle, i can measure mine and give you the dims .

Which piece are you missing. There are 2 piece that fit to the air box. One moves it across (would be easy to make something up) and the other is the inlet for the air pipe. I have the same snorkel on mine and could take a picture of the brackets but I have put them onto a VS Commodore air box to make room for my gas system.
    Cheers, David.

    Safari - Snorkels

The part nos. for individual parts are listed on that page, too.

The V8 and Tdi are the same in the SS390HF modle. Mine was second hand off a tdi and put on a V8. The bracket on the air box is to move it out so the snorkel can run between the guard and the air box.

Not on mine, i fitted mine and it was new in the box, airbox wasnt moved and only the one bracket on the A pillar - part 830-032-000 . Not sure on the model number of mine but it was new in late 2006 when i fitted it, mine has a moulded pipe that goes around the shock tower to the RH side of the filter housing - so it depends which model snorkle he has.

    To clarify my first msg.
I had the Snorkel given to me buy someone who took it off there Disco1 and then sold the vehicle.
Problem is, he sold it with the bracket for the A frame still attached to the vehicle, so if anyone has the material type and thickness and dim's etc I would be grateful. Same as if any body has a template for this snorkel that they no longer need(I am happy to pay postage) that will make fitting the thing a whole lot easier.
    My disco is 'With' ABS.

The bracket for the A pillar is about 3mm thick flat plate 145mm long by 55mm wide. As for the template put the studs into the snorkel and put some grease or paint on the ends and line it up with the guard and pillar and press it against the panel. Remove it and the stud and inlet positions will be marked. The stud holes can be pretty generous as big washers fit behind the guard (20mm) this also gives you a bit of adjustment to line it up. For the air inlet I used a 100mm hole saw as it's all covered up by the snorkel. The inner guard hole goes through about the middle of the big dimple on the inner guard. The Air box will have to be moved across with this ss390hf model to run the pipe work. Fitting instruction are on the Safari web site. If you have any more question just ask.
    Cheers, David.

That will be because your Disco won't have ABS. There are two snorkels. One for non ABS (SS350HF) and one for ABS (SS390HF).

The ABS model goes further along the guard and enters the engine bay beside the airbox.
