With both auto and TC in natural the rattle has gone but the vibration remains.

Thanks OffTrack for your post with the Technical Bulletin, I'll do the fix tomorrow and if it works I'll no longer have to devote my life to finding the rattle solution.

Many, many, many, thanks OffTrack! I have just completed the fix re Tech Bulletin L8945bu2 and it worked, my years of stress and worry are over. I recommend anyone who has this rattle does this fairly simple mod.:D:D:D

Hi all. I need someone with a nanocom for my d2 td5. It's idling rough. Have changed injector loom. Runs ok while driving. I live in the Hillside area ( Calder park race way) . Any help would be much appreciated . Cheer Rudy

i did the tech bulletin fix about 10 months ago and it fixed the problem, however, it has gradually returned, but at least i know what the issue is.

Maybe a bit late now for a free replacement.

In another thread a UK member posted a pdf of a LR tech bulletin which points to a major cause, and a LR $$$$ solution. Unfortunately the post is a "here you go..." with pdf attachment and it seems that it's been ignored. The VIN listed in the bulletin 1A720478 has a build date of 19/02/2001 so if you have a td5 auto built prior to that date this might be a solution.

near member here been reading the long thread on td5 vibration at 2200rpm I found a solution to mine 6 months back and has not returned .
i found a forward face mounting bolt on the transfer case up high in the small gap that was hand loose managed to get a spanner on to it and bit by bit tightened it up presto vibration gone !

hope this helps someone

Has anyone found a proper solution yet? I'm a bit over the vibrations and cost of this thing..
