D2 Cheap Headlining D.I.Y. Fix. caution lots of pics

Hi Rowscoe68.

This is a little of topic, but....

I'm currently thinking about putting in a dvd player in the roof. My car doesnt have the factory unit installed, and from what i can see neither do you.

What I"m keen to find out is, when u had the liner off was there wiring up there for the dvd player/screen?
Also is there some metal bracket for mounting the screen?
didnt happen to get any photos of that area did u?

I'm trying to work out where to start putting holes for the wiring and how to mount it.

sorry, to be honest i didnt really look at anything up there. i would assume the wiring is there, as most of those dealer options were fitted at the dealers not factory. if you have the RAVE cd it has installation guides for factory options. i can take a look in there for you if you don't have it.

Nice job with the roof by the way.

I just sold my d1 ( tradeup to d2) and had to fix most of the rrof that had hung down, painfull job, and very messy with all the old glue.

Your idea is much better, as it very hard to get the old liner to align up properly.

All the 'genuine' DVD players I've seen are locally fitted Eurovox units. The wiring is not from Land Rover so it will not be there.

do you know how they mount them, I dont expect to fix it to just the roof liner?

so I hope there is something hiding under there to screw into
