Baz.
some of you may have seen my D.I.Y. roof lining refit for D2. well this one done as part of the same operation.
you may have gathered by now i am a stingey bugger and dont like to spend money. well a rear cargo barrier for my car was gunna cost upwards of $600 new, i found a couple of s/h ones down south but by the time freight was covered it was still gunna cost me upwards of $250.
off to the recycling center i went with some measurements and found a Ford Ranger barrier that would fit reasonably well over the top of my drawer system to give a half height barrier. $10 and i was on my way. stopped at the wreckers for a bo peep at some bolts and brackets and bits and $5 later i was on my way with a bucket of bits and bobs. few hours measuring and fiddling and bending and forming the metal brackets into what i wanted and here is the result.
it wouldn't fit in with the rear side pods, but i havent had them in for a while as i get more storage beside my drawers without them in. but i had a lot of bare metal and wires as can be seen in the lst pic. quick look in the shed and low and behold some leftover interior wall cladding and the plastic joiner strips. 1 hour more with the saw and cutters and some fiddling etc. and hers the outcome. not super pretty, but neat nontheless. funtional i think is the term when something is ugly but works
