    Caltex Delo 400

    Is this a good oil to use in the v8?

    have used it in my v8 disco and now in the rangie for motor and gearbox etc....

    started out using penrite but moved to delo 400

    if motor is getting a bit worn i use havoline 20-50

    and if badly worn penrite 20-60 ..

    More on subject....

    ....just remember that the Delo 400 / Gold / Silver range are hi-detergent oils, so make the first filter change very early, as all the crud in the engine will be flushed out.

    i do all my changes at 5000k as a matter of habit...

    wasteful i know, but its my money....

    Penny wise, Pound foolish....

    Yep, skimping on oil is silly compared to the cost of an engine rebuild. I don't trust the manufacturer's claimed service intervals anyway, considering their vested interest in selling spares once your engine blows.....
