I had a Taxi that did that.

Discovery 2, 1999, v8 Gasoliine (P38).
Started a few days ago, squeels like so at low rev, shuts up when over 1500/2000 rpm.
Any idea? :)
not sure if the V8 has them but the concertina section on the exhaust had cracked thru one of the ribs so couldnt see it, made that noise exactly on my TD5, worth a look,
I am also getting a sort whining noise that goes with the engine rev at lower rpm. Another distinct feature of the noise is that it seems to be originating from behind where I am sitting in the drivers seat. At first I thought it was someone honking their horn behind me. Where are the UJs? I am guessing behind me.Quote:
