It does look good, but might I ask the advantage to making a metal one over the standard unit, are they prone to breaking?

The plastic tanks have a bad habit of breaking along the seam.

When you think of the pressure & under bonnet temps, most plastics will break down eventually.

We replace radiator hoses whenever they are unservicable, and don't give it much thought.

A metal (aluminum) tank will take all of the stresses involved under a hot bonnet, and not have any hassles.

Oh, and don't forget the "bling"...

As Basil said, the plastic expansion tanks break at the seam. That's what happened to mine. I now know I have a part that is worry free so to speak, and will outlast the car. The D1 version of this does not have a "viewing" window. I wanted that feature.
