i have a decent piston ring i think.
don't ditch yours cos i think most of the problem comes from the motor getting water in and corroding the brush contacts away and then they get hot and melt.
either sling me your old compressor to see if i can make one out of yoursa and the bits i have or i'll send you bits to see if you can get yours going.
