    Sway bar disconnects

Where can you get the sway bar disconnects?
How much should you be paying approx?

Rovertym in the US sells them. I've been thinking about making my own and even being fancy and making them solenoid activated...but there are a few challenges in doing so. IMO they are worthwhile, the extra front end flex is amazing with the sway bars removed.

    Ok, I will ask...

    How do they work???

I understand that by removing the sway bar for off road work, the suspension travel is increased, thus allowing more flex, but am unsure of how the disconnects work.

Not sure exactly however I think pins allow the sway bars to be connected for on road then when off road release pins and they no longer are connected hence allowing a lot more front wheel travel...
Someone with more knowledge can take over from here

The kit you buy from Rovertym comes with two disconnects, but you only use one in the front on the LHS. No point going in the rear because you get no extra flex with the sway bars off. As far as I am aware, there are two pins which disconnect top and bottom, you need to keep them greased as the bushes can wear out quickly. To disconnect them you need to be on flat ground, and its a bit tricky to reconnect them, with a bit of percussion required.

I have even considered removing the front sway bar all together as I run quite stiff springs, but I do like being able to take corners with a bit of speed. I have driven one with ACE and noticed no difference in handling compared to mine without ACE and stiff springs.

A mate has these on his Jeep,

They are pretty easy, your swaybar at the moment connects to a "Rod" with a bush and nut then at the other end to the suspension station, all the disconnects do is replace this with a different "rod" and it has a pin that you can remove and swing the "Rod" away from the bar( usually you velcro the "Rod" back to the chassis or let it hang) when the car is back on level ground the "Rod" and swaybar will line up again and the pin goes back in.

Here is a pic, there are a few different types even auto ones, his ones were $235+ del
