I've found that silver is the best colour for a car that gets used off road.

I don't care about bush striping but when the paint gets removed in spots altogether, it's still silver underneath .

I think my RR is about 75% paint, 25% alloy & it still looks the same .

White is my favourite too because I have one but as far as good looks go, black takes credit there.

There has been much debate on which colour is actually best in Aussie sun and in terms of heat etc.
It has been proven by many researchers that black and white cars are actually not that different at the end of the day in terms of heat inside of cars.
A white car will not get as hot, yes that is true but it will retain the heat where a black car will attract more heat and feel hot to the touch but will also disperse the heat much quicker.
Thats why inside of ovens and radiators the surfaces are black, it cools much quicker tahn a white surface which retains the energy(heat).
The net result is pretty much on par at the end of the day.

Black gets hotter initially but cools quicker where white heats slower but cools slower also.

My wife loves black cars but heats cleaning them.
I love my white disco and don't hate cleaning them because the dirt can hardly be see.

How did you come to this conclusion?

I say white cars look the best, i had two white bmw's and they looked really nice with black tint, i have a grey D2 at the moment and have found its impossible to keep clean and the scratches are terrible (might be partially my fault)

But if you were to forget about all of that and were just talking Land Rover then i think Dark Green is the only way to go! The original and the best.

x2 for silver. It tends to be good for not showing scratches and light scratches buff out very well.

I'm biased as both my disco's are silver.

What is the best colour for a 4WD

OK Pedro, this is the best I can do. The original photos were taken with a film camera. Remember them?

"Film" !!!! You are a modern photographer. I still use my glass plates with the wooden box on the tripod and hide under the black cloth !!!
