Have you tried replacing the battery in the key fob?
I have noticed that the key fob won't work when the car has been left sit for a while the key fob will not unlock the doors. I went away for a week and it did it and then I went away for a weekend and it has done it again.
If I unlock the door with the key, don't open it, then lock the doors again with the key fob button, I can unlock the doors with the key fob again, it only does it when it has been left for a few days, I drive it every day except when I go away
Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?
thanks

I have thought of that but havn't I will try it, I will give it a go thanks
That action is a part of the sleep programming in the cars computers. Its so if you leave the vehicle for an extended period of time the battery doesn't go flat. When the D2 was first released (about 99-mid01) the timing on this was set at only about 2 days or something if I recall correctly. The dealers then started to change this to whats now something around 5 days to a week.
Its normal. To over-ride it you stick the key in the door and turn it, and then unlock and disarm the car with the button on the key.
Cheers
