    Exhaust manifold Studs

    Hi

I had a nut missing at the end and it is warped by about 1.5. I am getting it machiened but none of the studs a broken and they are a pain to get out. if they aint broke should I replace them anyway.

Apart from Vice grips is there an easyway to get these out that I havn't worked out.

    Cheers

    Matt

Irwin make a reverse spiral fluted socket set you can get from most tool shops that is the go for getting out rounded nuts etc.

could always try two nuts on the same stud locked up against each other then use the nut inner nut to get the stud out.

Click on search and in the drop down box type exhaust manifold studs, this will give you everything you need to know about this problem, trust me there will be more than enough info, even a complete fix so it won't happen again.
