calcium batteries,,
they handle the higher voltages that fry normal lead acid batteries,,
Could be my issue.Mine has been intermittent, but goes flat fairly quickly when its going too.
I dont drive the D2 much so have resorted to removing the earth lead.
I have read in the past that cracks can occur in the D2 fuse block, effecting the PCB(printed circuit board)

Update,
We went OS for one week, so as a precaution after the new fuse-box I disconnected the earth lead. On returning, checked and the battery was at 10.6v so no-start.
Went back to the dealer and insisted on a new battery, which they put in, a
"Platinum 2000 maintainence-free" left the D for36Hrs, all seems OK.
The dead cell was not picked up by the dealer, who claimed their sophisticated teting device showed the previous Calcium battery to be OK (which it wasn't).
Now I won't let go till the full re-fund of the non-required fuse-box replacement cost.
Andrew, do you have a troublesome Calcium battery? Get it checked by someone competent.
Can anyone shed light on a Platinum battery?
