    265/70R-16

    Hi All,
Chasing confirmation that this tyre size will fit a D2 2004 V8 without a lift kit?
I used the tyre calculator from another thread and the increase in diameter is 39mm, this topic has been around but just seeking a direct answer. Currently fitted with factory 18's running 255/55R.

I was looking at BFG's yesterday, and according to the guy I was speaking to, he said that they will fit.

I dont have a lift kit on my 2004 D2. For some reason, they are also about $20 ea cheaper than the 255's. Go figure.

That's because they sell 100x as many due to it being a Landcruiser size tyre.

Yes they will fit, I just this week fitted 265x70x 16 Bridgestsone 694's to my D2a and while they fill the guards up pretty much they don't rub anywhere when used for normal road driving. Haven't gone off road with them fitted yet so can't say how that will work, would hazard a guess there could be some rubbing.

As for replacing the 18's with the 16's what a revelation, should have done it ages ago. The ride is so much better then with the bloody horrible Good Years.

    cheers,
    Terry

    265/75 R16

I run 265/75 R16 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZs as a dedicated off road set - they are a tight fit and I do get some rubbing up in the wells at extreme articualtion (saving up to do the suspension now so that won't happen) - so you should be good with 265/70s.

Oh - it is a 2003 HSE V8 with SLS - the suspenson is all original.

265/70's fit fine without a lift. But if you are going to put a lift on get 265/75's. The 70 profile looks a bit small with a lift on.
