I got the idea from others on this website and have attached images of my fitted effort and the dimensions provided by others. I made slight variations. Mine is 40mm long and not 25mm. I bit longer will stop snagging due to rocking.
It was not until I looked at the action of a roller that I realised only a MORON would ever design such a thing. As it rotates against the wall of the channel it is subjected to opposing shearing forces as one side goes up and the other down. Frankly its a miracle they last so long. For my money - NEVER INSTALL A ROLLER - the physics is all wrong, a slider is best.
I used a $9 nylon bread board, a small hobby type saw and simple bolts. Make sure only nylon robs against the wall of the channel so countersink the bolt head properly.
On the thread I used two washers to allow rotation and lock tite on the nut.
The job took one hour plus buying the bread board.
So easy a city boy could do it!
