Is the D2 different from the D2a? Where do you relocate and/or how do you hold in place the engine management unit that sits in the jack box?Quote:

Mine is a V8, maybe there is a difference between the V8 and TD5.
I looked at the ARB trays but did not want to have close to 2m of wiring between them etc. and I did not want to fill up the space at the rear of the engine bay. As you mentioned it would be a good spot for a compressor.
Can I ask how much the ARB tray costs as a comparison to the one I sourced?
The Aedofab tray was $270 shipped to my door from the US.
The battery tray is sourced from the US, a company called Aefob. It was not cheap but it was delivered from the US to Brisbane within five working days.

This really does seem a good solution for me as well, I dont have a jack in the box.
Do you shift the ECU box as well?

TD5 has ECU there as well, V8 doesnt...
I bought the ARB tray about 2 years ago and from memory it was about $70. Their design has a good point and bad point in regards the way they hold down the battery. They use a vertical plate which has a horizontal lip near the bottom which pulls down onto a mating lip on certain battery designs. Thus there is only one shape/size of battery (from memory something like RD4) and a couple of brands of battery you can use. Battery size is limited both in width and height. You are limited to about a 55Ah battery. However the vertical plate acts as a heat shield from the engine having a 1cm gap between the plate and the battery. I've put in a larger 80Ah battery but I had to custom design a new hold down and it didn't cope with the heat well.Quote:
