I'm in 2 minds. I wish I had have gone the 265/75r16 as I think they would have looked better but the 245/75r16 would be that little but better on fuel and the BFG KM2 only just fit on the rear door after I redrilled the carrier to lift it.

You shouldn't need to redrill for the carrier, you can just invert it.
You still need to drill it even if you just invert it or you can only use 4 holes, not 6. The holes aren't evenly spaced. The centre 2 are more one way than the other.Quote:

I decided since I would need to drill 2 holes anyway, I might as well drill 6.
FYI. Most 245/75r16 will fit without a carrier lift (what ever method) but the BFG KM2 are apparently a fraction bigger than most other 245/75r16. I had read it several times before I bought them and they fit but there is probably 1mm in it making contact with the rear step. I will admit however my step may have been very slightly bent up from bottoming it out sometime. Just be aware its close.

267/70 r16 is legal, and just fits the rear door, tyre just sits on the bumper, not enough to make a scuff mark, but u cant see daylight under it
