if you have a trailer setup, (assuming its done correctly) you can just pin onto earth and AUX to get power to the battery (charging only)
I have tried my key in the door and nothing happens, the disco is lifeless.
Cheers Matt

Thanks Blknight, I will try tomorrow, I read earlier about using trailer plug but I couldn't think between earth and what pin to get it going again, I completely forgot about the aux, I was thinking all the other circuits would be dead ends so to speak.
Cheers Matt
pretty sure that AUX power should be on all the time BUT its fused if you blow that you're down to getting under and trying to clip onto the starter.
you could also just remove the front grill cover and lever the bonnet catch open..

I've had a similar problem, but in reverse. How do you lock the tailgate door if the battery is totally flat, disconnected ? As on the way to work one day I tried to start the car, but it was all dead, no displays, etc. I thought I'd lock up and come back to it later but couldn't get the back door to lock. Eventually turned out to be loose battery connection, but got me wondering ?
I have just had to take out the batteries and charge them in my D2, both where completely dead to the point of not even the little red light flashing on the dash, the disco has sat for close to six months.
With flat batteries you can open the drivers door with the key but no other doors can be unlocked.
I climbed across from the drivers seat to release the bonnet to remove the batteries.
When putting the charged batteries back in make sure you have your key on you, as soon as the car gets the required voltage the alarm will go off but one press of the unlock button on the key fob disarms it and the immobiliser.
Then everything is back to normal![]()
Finally got into my disco, the main battery was down to 4.6V, had to climb under and remove starter motor cover to get to battery terminal at the rear, not the easiest job but still doable, the trailer plug didn't do anything, maybe I blew a fuse (haven't checked). I just attached a second battery via jumper leads to the starter motor and engine block and once the alarm started I just unlocked doors with remote and then removed second battery. My drivers door never unlocked using the key when the battery was flat, the key would turn either way but no response from the door lock. Anyway I worked out why I had a flat main battery in the first place, after charging the battery I put it back in and checked for current drain on the battery cables, intermittently I was getting a 700mA drain and then it would stop, this would happen every 10 secs or so and be there for a few secs at a time. While testing for current draw I heard intermittent clicking sounds, it was my SLS cycling, I tried removing the SLS fuses and relay but it would still keep cycling (very annoying). My air bags are inflated manually at the moment due to relocating my compressor from boot to engine bay and I still have to run metal lines from compressor to under car, so essentially the car was trying to lower the rear but could not but kept cycling the solenoids, I thought it would be OK while car was not running, but I have now learnt it needs to level after turning car off, so I have deflated bags a bit and now no drain on battery.
