    Sealing Coolant Expansion Tank Line

Ever since I got my D2 TD5 (about 2years) the small diameter line from the radiator to the expansion tank has been weeping from the sleeve joiner/connectors.
Is it necessary to replace the clip style clamps with worm drive clamps to rectify the leakage, or do the joining sleeves harden?

Far safer to replace the pipe entirely as it is made of nylon and is prone to shattering. 8mm heater hose is available from reputable suppliers.

Thanks for the replies, I had been thinking along those lines, but I was unsure as to whether normal hose would kink on the bends.

I replaced the whole line at 140k, genuine part, thirty plus dollars from FWD Yeerongpilly.
Its much softer, and used s/steel hose clamps on the ends.

Yep, all of the above. I did the heater hose too, but as said before the genuine part is only thirty odd dollars so the cost difference is negligible. It only the brittleness after years of heat that causes the issue.

    cheers

    Me too
mine broke when I moved it slightly during my last oil change, very brittle. Replaced it wit a suitable size rubber hose.
