Have arrived home yeserday from towing 2.9t from Melbourne. Total trip 6754.9 k with 3955.6k towing the new 25 ft Jayco.
Towing average fuel 17.178 ltrs/100. 5.821 kl per ltr = 523k per tank.
    Total average 15.1126 ltrs/100k.
On the trip down we averaged 11.7619l/100 with the disco fully loaded and a pod on the roof. We had everything bar the kitchen sink and a bed in the car so the girl was at her limit. On the lumps and bumps via the western road From Townsville to Melb the suspention was bottoming out.

The new piro gauge sure retrained me to play with the right foot and the results are a good 2ltrs/100 better than i have towed before.

I hope this is usefull to you and you have a great time doing the grey nomad thin like the rest of us.

There are some people who have an opinion that supermarket fuels (Woolworths diesel in particular) have poorer economy than the other brands like BP.

I've had my cpu upgraded and the fuel economony seems to have improved; however I still haven't done enough K's to post my figures so far. There's no doubt performance has improved and I can easily tell the difference it has made to the driving experience.

I did speak to my mechanic and he didn't seem to think there was any point in installing a piro guage. Depending on the cost I might just go-ahead and do it. I'm assuming it is a fairly simple task???

Once I get on the road in September and clock up some decent Ks I will post my Ltr/100k usage.

    Thanks everyone
