    straight through exhaust

    Hi there

I have just put a straight through exhaust in my td5 disco, just seems that it could be a little thirsty after doing this, could this be the case???
I have noticed a much better pick up and flow at cruising speeds.

Also is there anything that would make the car seem fumey, like its running rich, are there anything that needs to be checked?
The air filter is clean as, and all sensor seem normal on the nanocom!!

    cheers

I've removed the centre (big) muffler on both my 130 and my 90 TD5's and can't say I noticed any change in range, and not much change in power either!! Sounds better but

Can't think why no muffler would increase your consumption on a turbo diesel.

    gday bronson,
l have removed the center muffler on my d2 td5 as well. first few tanks it used more juice but now i'm getting about 10.8 average instead of 11.2. i put it down to it sounds better, and i liked the noise so i used the loud button more.now i'm used to it i'm back to normal driving habits. my 2.5 year old now says noisy car daddy with a big smile!
    cheers ben

Hi all, plenty of info and descriptive words about TD5 exhaust mods,
Anyone have any suggestions about what can be done to make the V8 sound better?
Which muffler box to cut out etc.
    Cheers all

I've just recently removed the rear box on my V8 and replaced with some pipe (Ian Diffens did it all for $50).
Sounds a little "raspier" on start up, noticeable difference while driving around, but certainly no rumbling or distracting excessive noise.
Sounds much better at low revs in higher gear just tootling about (try d4 at about 1500 revs).
Burbles nicely! At least "I" think so!

No noticeable difference in fuel usage, but then it is running a lift with mud tyres and roof rack, so don't suppose that helps much either!!

    Cheers,
