    Centre Diff Lock Fitted

Pardon my ignorance but what does this do in a series 2 disco?
Is it present in all Discos but not hooked up as a cost saving measure by LR?

i believe it was fitted in some discos but not all.

    i have a 2000 td5 manual D2

it has a little spigot just aft of the front shaft and a 10mm spanner will engage it.

    people have built/bought levers.

some one will be able to shed plenty more technical speak on it, or use the search button.

my impression is that it spreads out the power evenly front and back rather than allowing one wheel to spin freely in the air.

it works almost like diff locks ?? but not as good obviously.... thats the real thing!
