Talking discovery oil leak to power steering pump?

found oil is leaking from the power steering pump area.
Had a look underneath and checked that lines are tight and not leaking.
The oil seems to be dripping from the pump area itself.
Any ideas as to what is ammis?
Is it a difficult item to replace oneself? and what of the cost?

I found a leak in the pipe that runs out the bottom of the pump back to the Res' on mine. There is a metal section that can rub against the engine ( it should have a piece of rubber around it ,to protect it ). Easy to replace. But messy. Hose clamps at both ends. Remove plastic splash guard under front of engine and attack from below. This is the feed pipe to the pump so not under presure. New one costs around fifty bucks.

These pumps have leaked since Inc wore short pants,,
There is a seal you replace underneath the pump,,
or just fill it with Moreys seal fixer and let it rust proof the underside of the D2,

I just used run of the mill vegetable oil. Something to do with being organic based rather than mineral based.
Probably wouldn't hurt to throw in some finely chopped onions, garlic and peppers. Don't worry if the garlic burns slighty, it infuses better.

Thumbs down the pump is now making a dreadful noise

I'm not sure if the onions or the turmeric are causing upsets to my landie power steering pump, but when starting from cold in the morning it is now making a dreadful Moaning noise. It is most alarming to say the least and eventually when it is warm the moaning noise stops? My local mechanic says that I should try draining the fluid reservoir at least 3 times, replenishing the fluid with the manufactures recommended oil and see how it goes. Oh my god, is he just guessing at $60ph?
The plot thickens, should I book in to have a transfusion of the reservoir or what?
    anyone's thoughts would be appreciated...
    Peter..
