Another for WA (SoR) - comes recommended, but no personal experience (yet)

did mine myself a few weeks ago. Initially tried spray glue with the headlining in situe, but it was hopeless, seemed like the lining had shrunk so much it was impossible to restretch it and the new glue just kept pulling off more foam backing.
In the end I took off the whole headlining, which is actually quite easy. Hardest bit is extracting it out of the back of the car as the front section is wider than the rear door.
Next harness thing was finding material that was wide enough. Went to spotlight and out of their fine selection of over 500 roles of material, none were wide enough. Therefore I went with a black fleecey blanket material which was the only think they had wide enough. Glued it with impact adhesive, brushed on. Now looks great.
Hi D2lee,
I'm interested in your description of this job.
Do you have a picky or two that you could post, so we can see the result?
To deal with the problem of in-situ glue not working because of crumbly foam above the lining, I had the idea of using coloured drawing pins pushed into the actual "ceiling" above. You could apply a small amount of glue to the point of the pin, to help it stay embedded in the moulded board.
With an ordinary sewing pin, you can see that drawing pins could be anything up to 15 - 20 mm long, if you can get them. If the right colour is not obtainable to match your liner, one could just paint the heads of a few dozen drawing pins first.
Like yours, my liner is a bit taut - I reckon this was done by the P.O. to minimize the "droop" of the liner. I've seen some so bad that you can hardly see anything in the rear-vision mirror!
Cheers,

Back again Slunnie.
AA Motor Trimmers at Granville will do the complete job (R&R) in one long day for $350. They'd need the car early in the morning and depending on the weather may use a heat lamp to set the glue faster. They do about 50% this way and 50% as they are with mine.
Mine's not done yet as they got inundated with flood water on Saturday and had to order another 3m of material as the material they had for mine got wet.
Picked roof liner up today and refitted. Very pleased with job & the guys at AA Motor Trimmers are really helpful - even assisted with initial refitting to vehicle which is much easier with three people.
Anyway, I guess it didn't happen without photos so .........

I don't know what happened to the colouring in the first photo, maybe affected by the fluro light. colour in second photo is closer to the mark.
Apparently there was either a cream or grey headlining fitted to the D2's. I selected the cream to match the roof and pillar trim.
Found a place in Melbourne to do it, not done yet, but on the list. He will remove whole head lining and form work, remove fabric, clean and sand, and replace with a thick "felt" rather than foam backed fabric. Reinstall. 4 colours to choose from. $650. Drop off in the morning, pick up in afternoon.
