I had an NRMA check done on it which I have to say isn't much better than going over it yourself. They do however confirm everything as far as engine number, rego, car etc to make sure you're the car does exist and you're not supporting a russian crime sindicate. Also this forum helped me to ask the right questions as far as it's history goes. Things like service history and what has been fixed on it. Turned out the predicatable stuff always talked about on this forum like oil in the injector harness had already shown up and been fixed under warrenty.

Here's a photo. previous owner has added the snorkel, rock sliders, dual battery, ECU remapped and intercooler upgraded. So far all i have added is two baby seats, will probably whack on a bullbar pretty soon.

    Epsom Green - my favourite

    When I have it

The 2 checks I had done on the Defender and the Discovery before I bought them in Sydney were very good actually. Sorry to hear you did not have the same experience.

By the way - I wouldn't leave it parked where you have it in the photo - due to the colour it might get collected on rubbish day

I think you just gave epsom green a new name Stuuu - wheely bin green

    On a sour note

I thought it's funny how every now and then the car lets out the air from the SLS and I tried to find in the manual why it does that. Found some threads on the forum that basically say I have a leak in one of the air bags. Looks like the right one to me as the gin sag slightly favours that side. It doesn't drop all the way to the bump stop, just about half way down and then comes bak up when you start the car. I suppose if I left it long enough it would go all the way down.

I haven't checked with the previous owner yet but he went to a lot of troouble to make sure everything was working ok, has contacted me to check that everything is ok once I got it and left his number for me to ring if any problems. I think the transport stage might have weakened it as cars really swing around on their suspension on a truck.

Anyway there's some good threads on replacing the bags so looks like I have my first fixit coming up.

    Lovely Disco !

Mine did that - but would randomly go to the bump stops on one side overnight.

A new pair of OEM Contitech airbags fixed it (from the UK). Mine had gone after 7 Years / 160K Km. The instructions here are perfect: www.discovery2.co.uk / Rear Suspension Air Bags

Have fun with your new toy!
    Cheers
