I saw an article about the liners not being the issue as such, but rather very thin casting where the head bolts to the block in parts, near the pots, and where torquing down the heads can in effect bust the casting at that point allowing the combustion to leak down past the sleeve...I will look that up..I think from memory that caused the liner to move.

I've got new radiator, water pump, thermostat, recently had heads checked, so would expect them all to be good(10000kms ago). i was thinking short motor 4.6 maybe new cam from rpi.engineering in uk then use rest of my engine to get up and running. my understanding is no reflash no uprgades etc.
