D2 V8 Shower Unit...... HELP...
Landrover Discovery 2 V8 Year 2000.
Having just 'tortured' my 2 young children for the 3rd time this week with a cold wash down after being on the beach.....
Unfortunately toughen up isn't cutting it with a 3 and 5 year old!!!
I was looking at fitting a 'Piranha Shower Unit' to the truck. There have been a number of posts but none that I could see that refered to the V8....
Has anyone had any experience of 'running' one on the V8..... thoughts, issues, fitting location/position of units and where the pipe work was cut into... comments would be very much appreciated.....

Have you considered a self contained hot water system like the Coleman or similar. I have has one for a few years and although there are others on the market, I have had no probs with mine.
Coleman Gas Hot Water on Demand - BCF
I have a gas adapter hose so it runs from a normal (bbq type) gas bottle. I just drop the pump into a bucket of water and within about 20 seconds you have hot (enough to make a cupa tea) water.
got to be cheaper to run than the 3.9 lt version.

Cheers for that, looked at one of those but space is a premium without running a boxed unit and gas cylinder... just looking at a fix and forget system....

Shower
Hook your heat exchanger into the heater circuit on the RH side of Motor. If no second battery pipe it in over on LH side near inertia switch.
plenty room there for pump as well.
if you have a second battery on LH side then you can fit pump and water unit down low behind Grille and still plumb it into the heater as this circuit always runs at Engine Temp.
Or you can remove the jack and its' housing near the battery holder and fit it there.
I then fitted the Jack to a bracket i made inside the spare wheel holder.
Out of Sight and can't be pinched unless the spare doesn't have a locking nut.
Jack relocation is always good for space making in V8 engine bay.
can provide foto if neeeded.
Cheers

sorry guys
I've been busy with shed construction
but going on the foto's from Burly Oaf
i think the best space saver for you is to
Wrap some Annealed 13mm Copper pipe around the engine pipes and silver solder appropriate fittings to it then hook up your pump and idle motor for heat transfer, which is quicker than waiting for engine to heat up.
or bolt shower unit to side of chassis and run coolant line from there.
