Can you tell us what the diagnostic said so the issue might be isolated?

Hey Nath...
Not quite worthless...get a quote from a good agent (with a valve kit and the part 2 mod I'm about to shell out $650.00) you could either get it fixed, or with the quote in hand, deduct the cost from the sale price.
i.e up the price by what you have a price for the repair, and then negotiate that down...Hardly Normal do it all the time...
last time i had it checked it said shuttle valve so we changed it and they came back on instantly , its random when they come on, im i brisbane is there anybody near by that can do that sort of work, what needs doing? should i do the rewire of the abs module?

You can buy a new shuttle valve for about $35 (or something under a $100 anyway)from the UK and I believe the wiring (Modis about $15 dollars. So unless you are not confident with mechanics I would suggest you tackle it yourself and save 500 clams.

I'm going to tackle mine this weekend, so once I have mine complete I'll can give you a hand the following weekend. (Mod
I also have the three amigos and mine only visit in summer and was diagonosed the SVS. Similiar to yours.
I'll keep you posted.
Just be prepared there will be a truck load of guys post remarks about this as three amigos are like sphincters. Every one has got one......or two or more.

The pedal should not be "spongy"
It will have more travel than a D1 but work better.
Have you done a powerbleed?
(and if you have,, well the shuttle valves are probably ok,, )
Can someone explain to me how a shuttle valve can be faulty?

Just completed option B. Pretty easy. Harder than changing disc pads but similar to replacing the door latch in terms of difficulty. Soldered every joint possible.
Nathand: If you need a hand doing this job I can help out. Send a PM.

Looking at a disco for sale with this......
DOES HAVE THE 3 AMIGO LIGHTS ON THE DASH BUT COMES WITH A SHUTTLE VALVE MODULE TO FIX THE PROBLEM
Is this going to be a big and or expensive fix?
What is the modification what is done?
Thanks for advice in advance.

3 Amigos can appear for a number of reasons not just beacuse of the shuttle valve switch. Take it for a test drive and see if they just come on randomly and then reset with the ignation. I imagine they do.
You also need to have the diagnostic tool connected to read all the faults. Make sure the 3 amigos has appeared before you have them read. The diagnostic tool may suggest it's something other than the SVS.
You mighten even need to change out the existing SVS if there's nothing wrong with the wires and boots on it.
Also when you test drive it make sure all the driver aids works (ABS/HDC/TC).
If you take it to a mechanic they will read the ECU to determine the fault. If they read it and it says SVS then they re-build the entire ABS module. Last time I asked what was involved he quoted around the $1200 mark.
The good news though is if it just reading the SVS and he is selling one with the car you can just replace the SVS yourself (2- 3 hours work at most) and then see if that has made a difference...... otherwise, subject to the condition of the exisitng SVS just do the rewire (Optionand hold onto the new SVS. Pretty sure a new SVS is around $35 - $60 dollars.
Option B also takes about 2 - 3 hours and roughly $15 dollars in parts.
Personally if I was buying a disco with amigos I would be talking it down at least the repairs of the SVS ($1200 - $1500). Of course this is assumming the SVS is what is read in the faults otherwise looking at more money.
Also do a search for 3 amigos. Truck load of info on this forum regarding 3 amigos.
