Rear air suspension with 2" lift

I have just ordered a simple 2" suspension lift kit which consists of only front springs and rear air suspension spacers.
I am a bit worried about using the rear spacers with the standard shocks. What probems am I likely to come accross with this set up? I have been told that if off-road mode is selected then the shocks will top out. What will this do to the air suspension? Will it just keep inflating till the bag bursts? If I fit 2" extended shocks to overcome this problem will I need to do any other mods (brake lines/bump stops etc)?

Yes you will need to get longer shocks, they are off the shelf items, just ask for shocks to suit a 2" lift.
    Cheers Baz.

Wondering if a related Q might be will 2" extd rear shocks off the shelf also be enough to cope with the SLS off road extd height mode on top of the 2" lift or don't people use that function (or can't) with a 2" lift. Also does this bring in issues of altering the SLS ride height sensor if the function is still usable.

Normally, a 2" SLS spacer kit should also include extensions for the ride height sensors.

Without modifying the ride height sensors, the SLS system will just deflate the airsprings to negate the extra 2" lift you've installed.

    Hey Sandman,
Along with the spacers on the back and +2 springs on the front, install +2 shocks on the rear and leave the front shocks standard. This is my set up and I've never had a problem.
Fluids is spot on, the air spring spacer kit comes with height sensor spacer and brake line mount extension plate. All easy to install.
I got mine from Tombie2, here.

Before Pedro get stuck into this with "search is your friend". I did a search for my old thread that will give part numbers for Bilstein shocks to suit the extra height. I also second that the SLS extender kit should have SLS sensor spacers and brake line extender brackets for it all to work.

Thanks for all the replies, I will get some 2" extended shocks for the rear. The kit comes with SLS sensor brackets but not brake line extender brackets. Are these necessary and what exactly are they?

The brake line bracket, pulls the end of the hard piped section of brake line down a bit, and saves you having to replace the standard length flexible brake line with an extended one (due to the increased distance between chassis and wheel).

just to add to this, i just went and replaced my rear shocks with some new OEM ones and with the 50mm sls spacer kit in the standard shocks still have 20mm extention left in them with the bags at full height.
and for the record OEM d2 rear shocks are 568mm ext and 358mm comp fronts are 582mm ext and 373mm comp.
they will work fine with the 50mm lift.

    cheers phil
