Thread: Discovery 2 DVD Player Region Code

Surely someone has a D2 with factory DVD?

Mine's the one with the player under the drivers seat, and the little 7" swing down from the roof screen, with IR headsets.

Ron ... you've jinxed me ! .... the DVD in the disco won't work It was working on the weekend

After much mucking about with it it powered up, at least long enough for me to check the setup menu ... no DVD Region setting available .... after about 2min it stopped responding to the remote/front buttons, and turned off with the ignition ... won't turn on now ...

... I checked the manual too ... while it states in 2x places ... "PLEASE NOTE; The On Screen Display (OSD) will show "INVALID DISC" if the DVD Region code does not correspond with the unit setting" ... nowhere does saying anything about changing the region code. My bet, is since these were fitted here, the region is fixed.

I think we are Region 4 .... which of the countries asked about are also Region 4 ?

My DVD is a Eurovox unit ... is his the same ? Mine doesn't have any DVD Region Settings ?

Johnno's (also Eurovox) was working until the weekend, too.

Did you do anything prior to noticing it didn't work, e.g., changing set up?

yes, we are Region 4 and none of the countries listed are in Region 4 - that's what's causing the heartache.

I'll have to ask him how he got to the region setting section.

No, didn't change a thing. The young fella just puts DVD's in and the thing plays.

... I doubt you had any casue in this one Ron, unless .... the DVD player knew I was coming to check something for "Ron" and decided, whilst powered OFF, to fail at the instant I tried to turn it ON .... what are the odds ?

The only place I can see any "Countries" listed is in the language setup menu.

I went back to the Disco later last night, and the DVD appears now to be working correctly ? ... who knows! ... it's a conspiracy I tell you

If you find out how to get the DVD Region Setting Menu up, let me know & I'll take another look.
