Sure am - I couldn't be bothered modifying the policy later, and I thought I'd fit them much sooner.

Significantly better than quotes I've had from elsewhere. Because neither is a daily driver, Shannons have taken usage into account. They were the only insurer to do so, and give me a quote based on their usage patterns.
One is a tourer, so I predominantly use it for long trips away (i.e. up to several trips a year of between 1000km and 10,000km+, and the occasional weekend getaway). I also use it around town every now and again, (i.e. when my daily driver is off the road, or when I need to cart gear around).
The other is a weekend toy, which really hasn't seen much action in the last 18 months, but is insured based on usage of a couple of wekends a month, doubling as a daily driver in times of need.
Shannons comprehensive premiums were comparable (but cheaper) with 3rd party+fire and theft quotes from other insurers I approached (including "speciallist" insurers such as Just Car). For me it was a no-brainer.
Cheers

Shannons... insurance for motoring enthusiasts as long as they are not young.
I tried getting a quote for Ambrose and the guy kept insisting that it was a ute.
"No, it's not a ute - it's an Ambulance"
"Yeah, so its a ute with an ambulance body on the back"
"No... It is NOT a ute"
"well what was it before it was an ambulance?"
"Nothing - it came from factory like that"
"but what is the Ambulance body sitting on?"
"Umm... the chassis?"
"Exactly! So its a cab chassis - ie a ute."
"FFS! NO! Its not... gaaah stuff it!"

GIO Have been good so far... even if they did muddle up some of the details on the Deefer policy which were easily fixed. :)
The first policy I took out on a Series 2 with GIO they insisted they list it as a volvo and then noted it as model land rover. So glad I never had to claim that one.
I tried Shannons last may for my comp' renewal .... :(
YOUI took the line honours ... because they based the assesment on the fact that we don't use the D2 to get to/from work, it worked out considerably less than everyone else, with better cover, agree'd value, and a $50 glass excess.
