It's a 2003 plus Micorcat suggest 433Mhz with regards to the VIN so unless you have some insider knowledge not sure you can help much more.

However if you access to some super computer I'll PM the VIN but I need to know about the super computer first. I only know of a couple of people with one.

    Regards

    I am a super computer.

I don't need your whole chassis number. If it's an XA then it should be 315mhz. If it's YA then it should be 433mhz.

Logic would tell me that yours is a 680 part number. Is there a possibility that the 680 you received previously was a dud?
If it does turn out that yours runs on 315mhz, the might have been some change over of the BCU???

We are on the same page

I'm thinking the same. Either the 680 was a dud (brand new genuine dud though, so I'm thinking packaged/labelled incorrectly)or the BCU was changed.

When you type your VIN in it tells you what parts you need or suite your car however on the very first screen where you type the VIN there are some tabs on the lower part of this screen and it goes into the specifc of your own car, no one elses, your car . What frequency etc your fob is, what your interior is made of eg fabric or leather, colour and all sorts of car specifc details. It's like a birth register.

Have a look for yourself and if yours is all correct well congratulations dude but I know mine's not.

I kind of realise that. Due to the fact I have been dealing with EPC's for the last oh, I dunno, 15 years as part of my job. Nissan, Toyota, Land Rover and now Mercedes Benz, I have used just about every form of base cataloging systems out there, professionally..... so I am more than aware of who how why and what they tell you.

Your statement of it being hit and miss for a 2003 model leads me to believe either:
1 - your interpreting the catalogue wrong.
2 - you have an issue with your setup or something has been changed before you had it.
3 - your programming the key wrong or not doing something correctly.

But I guess that stating it's hit and miss while also being a "birth register" for your vehicle....

I shall reserve my knowledge for those a little more receptive.

I can do a pile of screen dumps to prove its hit & miss but this forum is not the place.

For example these are a couple of differences already noted in the system without going through the whole system.

My car has a leather interior. Micorcat states a fabric interior. (miss)
My car has the plenum and plenum filter as per the pitcture catalogue. Micorcat highlights it as red. Not required for this car (something similar to this wording). (miss)

In my opinion it only has to have one thing different and I slide it in to the hit and miss catergory.
    1. Not sure interpretation is incorrect when there is only one part to chose from.
    2. Agree, most likley something has been changed.
    3. Followed the same procedure for two cars. One worked one didn't. Open to suggestions.
Birth register might not be an overly accurate metaphore but when it runs through a warts and all of all the gadgets and accessories fitted to the car in a about 30 lines which is specific to your car, birth regsiter seemed appropriate. Each car's a individual.....

    Update (Process of Elimination)

Just programmed a CWE100690KIT to the car.

I did try CWE100680KIT but didn't even register however the 690 did.

Finally have a (brand new genuine)spare key.

I ended up getting a new key through a landy mech near me. It cost around $320 cut and coded. Bloody expensive but hey gotta have it. LR wanted somewhere around $500 I think it was.

How do you break a key?

    and as for flat batteries,,
$3 for a new one, buy two and throw one in the glovebox,,

but I replaced the fob batt in my green D2 that would have been ten years old, and the voltage was down by 0.1
