I run King and Bilstein with a 2" lift.
I have never driven a better balanced 4wd....even better than my ML270 which was awesome on road.

I still have the boxes at home, so could check the spring rates on the weekend if you want.

    King springs

Hi Hamish, these arestandard height ,heavy duty(about 20mm higher) than factory,asI said, the same combo on my old d1 was superb like yours, don;t know what is going on with these ones??,the front are too stiff giving a harsh ride and no articulation at all,the rear are opposite and too progressive, part no"s are correct as per quote so it's a mystery, back to the shop next week
    cheers Gregg

Hi trendsetters!,made it home at last with my bum dragging like a worm ridden Labrador!!,gave mr King a call and discussed my problem and after telling him measurments ,he suggested putting raised coils in the rear(about 510mm axle to guard) and leaving front as standard.,about 495mm.So I then paid mr Fulcrum a visit with my new wealth of knowledge and looking at the car,(20l fuel and nothing in the back),the mamager was a bit perplexed,he even said they had done heaps of D1's with no dramas(including my old one) but the D2s are different. But he was veery helpfull and has ordered new rear coils and should have them done this week, will keep you posted on outcome and if it costs me anything????
    cheers Gregg
p.s,it even states in King springs website that using standard and raised coils may be necessary to get desired result

    new springs

HAPPY NOW......JAN!!!!!,got my rear coils changed today to raised ones,no labour charge!,difference in ride is amazing ,considering only rears were changed, front seems a lot smoother and overall set-up is as good or better than my old d1,new measurements are :
    Front..515mm part no.krfs06
    Rear...535mm part no.krrr04
..taken from guard to hub center, car looks a lot better and firmer in the rear....feels perfectly balanced now, even mr Fullcrum was impressed,I don't know why they use the weaker coil?
I'll take some piccies and post them on the w-end,thankyou all for the advice and support, cheers Gregg

    new-new springs

As promised, here are some photos of the new springs with standard in both ends(clean car!),and with the raised coils in the rear(not so clean),I'm really enjoying driving it now,and also don't mind looking at it either!!.It's a bit hard to see but the rear sits about 45mm higher with the raised coils than with new "standard height" ones, now, what else is there to do on it???
    Cheers Gregg.

Don't forget yours will settle a bit,as mine has done over the last 18 months.Mine is 495mm rear,505mm at front, stock Kings springs.
I recon they have come down around 10-15mm at the front, rear is much the same, maybe a fraction lower. The car is usually empty,so i suppose all the weight is on the front most of the time.

Yes mate,I'm expecting them to do that,as long as they all do!!!,mine's like yours as it is empty most of the time so Idon't mind if the front softens up a bit.
P.s,thanks Hamish for digging out your measurements(of the springs I mean!)
Pi@#$ng down here in Brissy now, cheers Gregg

    KRRR 04 HD

    Hi 3 Gees,

I fitted the same King springs last week. ksfr 06 front and krrr 04 rear. The rear of the car looks rediculously low with the horse float attatched with nothing in it. I have spoken to the supplier and they are giving me krrr04hd. This is a heavy duty spring. Probably constant load instead of progressive.
How much has the disco settled now?
    Thanx. Michael.
