    clutch advice please

Hi all . I have had a bit of trouble with the clutch on my 2002 td5. So i have decided toreplace the whole lot and i an wondering if any one can tell me what to go for . Standard , heavy duty , brands ect... I have fitted 32" tyres and 3.9 diffs with true tracs front and rear . I use it mostly for towing my boat and a bit of beach work . Any advise would be great. Cheers

Is that like a vice clamp you put on your butt, with a clutch attached for extra fart ripping goodness?

If you decide on a heavy duty clutch, you will also have to change the flywheel, mainly because the kits are both flywheel and clutch.

Heavy duty clutch kits come with a single mass flywheel, which replaces the dual mass flywheel, sopposedly the single mass flywheel is much better and stronger for towing.

Last time I inquired (2008) the heavy duty kit was $1800

Apparently a standard D2 clutch has a life of 100,000ks to 160,000ks if doing alot of towing.

Thanks for that. That seems pretty pricey ! Are the ones you are talking about an after market brand or landrover?

I've just fitted a solid billet flywheel, with AP racing centre plate, Valeo HD cover and a billet thrust bearing in my td5.

Got it all posted airmail from Rakeway in the UK.

Kit was 436 pounds and shipping was 255pounds.

    Excellent quality piece of kit.

I went with option 2 on this page

    Flywheel & Clutch Kits
