as far as i can see there is no need to go overseas to do a 3" kit for the D2. Shane at suspension stuff can sort you out in the coils and shock dept, as for brake lines there is any number of mobile guys that can come and do them for you, and the ABS lines you can source for around $90.
All the odds and ends like the front crossmember spacer can be sourced from Les Richmond in Melbourne, they are very helpfull however i have found them to be a little bit pricey.
The dollar is awesome i went a bit overboard and filled up a pallet with stuff from the US, but filling a pallet is the only way you will get your moneys worth out of shipping. You will find that the cost to ship coils etc will be quite exxy. I paid $770 USD for a pallet, and that has ALOT of stuff on it. I would imagine it would be more expensive to pay for 5 or so boxes.
There is heaps of info on here about all sorts of lift sizes and styles that can be sourced domestically, i know British Offroad sell terra firma, and i am pretty sure TF does a 3" kit for the D2.
If you do decide to go with Rovertym they are an excellent crowd to deal with and have an excellent rep in the US, just look on Pirate4x4 nearly all the D2's have some Rovertym gear on them. Mine will be sporting their adjustable Panhard, shocktowers and lower front mounts soon![]()
