Certainly vertical mate... Yep, bit of a relief that the dealer has accepted the repairs and that it's being done at a Landy specialist.

Righto, if your VIN is YA then you'll be looking at CWE100680KIT. This is the 433mhz part number.... BUT... There have been some instances in which CWE100690KIT has been used too.

It's all confusing stuff.

Out of interest, which exact shops did you visit? There are stories of Amcal chemists and maybe Dick Smith stores using the same 433 MHz frequency for security or some other wireless applications. I had the same problem when another 433 MHz source was present. Had to crt/alt/del the vehicle to restore the key fob. I think the rolling code gets too far out of sync due to the extra "bits" of data from the additional source.

The Ctrl/Alt/Del method is used to help clear fault codes, so it may help with your problem. Unless there's a problem with your FOB.
I've only ever heard of it being used to clear the abs lights when they pop up unexpectedly.

Process is as follows:

With the key in the ignition and front door closed, open drivers door and then pull key out of ignition and wait around ten seconds. Now put key back in the ignition, close the door and restart the car.

That's it!

I guess all there is to do now is to try that key out.

My version (from somewhere deep in an aulro forum):

close door, start engine, stop engine, key out, wait 1 minute, open door, key in, close door, restart
Seemed to work for me.

Can we ever find an authoritative source on this one?

All sorted, the fob I was sent didn't respond when my LR guy tried tuning it in so off I went to an electronics guru mate & for the price of a few snot blocks ( made by me :)) I'm on my way again. All he did was remove the little silver block with the switch on it from the new fob & replaced on the original one :).

I still need to get a key sorted for mine. I had one delivered in around November last year, but I've not had a chance to find out if it works. I have my doubts as the internals of the new FOB look different to the existing one.

Cool dog. I wish mine was as relaxed as that in the car. Mine tends to get a little car sick.

Is there a method of externally or internally telling if a key fob is 315 or 433? I received 3 with my D2, 2 were defiantly the originals and there was a 3rd that was purchased off ebay as a spare by the last owner. Do the no's inside the fob's relate to anything? The two that are for the car are sequential and dated the same, the other is different.

Also if replacing battery in remote there's nothing to worry about in terms of reprogramming is there?
